The role of Temporary Works Engineer at Bennett And Game Recruitment involves assisting in the development and mentorship of the team, supporting the tendering team developing construction methodology, leading projects through the preconstruction design phase and construction phase, understanding health and safety regulations, design risk assessment processes in line with CDM H&S regulations, coordinating external consultants and third-party checkers, liaison with clients and project construction teams, aid tender bids when required, ensuring designs adhere to industry standards, codes, and are checked and approved following company quality procedures, and report writing for client communication and statutory authorities design approvals.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist in the development and mentorship of junior engineers within the team.
- Support the tendering team in developing construction methodology.
- Lead projects through the preconstruction design phase and construction phase.
- Understand and apply health and safety regulations, design risk assessment processes in line with CDM H&S regulations.
- Coordinate external consultants and third-party checkers.
- Liaise with clients and project construction teams.
- Aid tender bids when required.
- Ensure designs adhere to industry standards, codes, and are checked and approved following company quality procedures.
- BEng or MEng level in Civil and/or Structural Engineering or similar discipline.
- Working towards chartership, such as the ICE or IStructE.
- 5+ years' experience with expertise in underground structures/tunnelling temporary works.
- High level of technical skill with accomplished structural design skills.
- Ability to support, mentor, and develop junior engineers within the team.
- Sound knowledge of CDM H&S regulations.
- Excellent written English language and grammar.
- Competitive salary of up to £50,000 per annum.
