Job Title: Tooling Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Tooling Specialist to join our team at Austin Frye, a leading Executive Search firm specializing in packaging, machinery, and chemicals.

Estimated Salary: £35,000 - £50,000 per annum, depending on experience

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining can forming tooling and equipment, ensuring a smooth production process by preparing necessary tools, prioritizing rework tooling, and identifying potential tooling shortages.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Grinding and preparation of punches, rings, and cupper tooling
  • Measurement and control of tooling
  • Inspecting/measuring tooling
  • Making tool packs/size change tooling
  • Control of the ring grinding process
  • Grinder maintenance/upkeep
  • Sort finished tooling into storage cabinets
  • Gather and analyze data related to tooling/oil usage and plant KPIs
  • Rebuild and maintain unit spares
  • Height change support
  • Control of Necker tooling in the toolroom and satellite stores
  • Maintain housekeeping standards of the tool room
  • Plant maintenance as required

Requirements:

  • Computer literacy and ability to generate reports
  • Working knowledge of Health and Safety work practices
  • A manufacturing background in a high-speed, high-volume continuous process
  • Ability to work precisely with strong attention to detail
  • A team player with strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and organize/prioritize workload
  • Experience of inspecting/measuring tooling
  • Possess an enthusiastic and proactive approach
