Job Summary

The Financial Analyst Senior is a critical member of our team at Bryn Mawr College, responsible for performing essential accounting and financial service functions. This includes preparing general ledger entries, developing reports, performing cash management duties, supporting accounts payable processes, assisting with monthly budgeting and financial forecasting, supporting annual audit process and performing payroll processes, as well as improving procedures, analyzing and interpreting data, and working with staff across departments.

  • We are seeking an experienced professional to fill this key role, someone who can bring their expertise in generally accepted accounting principles, concepts and practices to our team.
Key Responsibilities

The Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for:

  1. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records and files, and reconciling accounts as needed;
  2. Preparing weekly bank deposits and other cash management duties as directed;
  3. Supporting the Accounts Payable areas by inputting data into the A/P system, verifying invoices and preparing invoices for payment;
  4. Assisting with the development and maintenance of a rolling, 12-month financial forecasting model;
  5. Analyzing current procedures and developing and implementing improvements to accounting procedures;
  6. Providing timely responses to audit requests from external auditors during the annual audit process;
  7. Performing various payroll entries, including verifying hours worked, entering hours into the system, and submitting payroll;
  8. Staying up-to-date with industry developments and best practices through ongoing education and professional development.
Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting;
  • Strong understanding of and ability to perform generally accepted accounting principles, concepts and practices;
  • Ability to analyze financial data, provide recommendations, and work effectively with diverse groups of co-workers and external partners;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and customized databases;
  • Ability to work independently with a high level of energy and contribute as part of a larger team.

  • The employee will spend a majority of time sitting at a desk working at a computer workstation keyboarding and performing routine clerical duties;

  • Although work is primarily indoors, occasional travel outside to college locations/special events may be required.
Estimated Salary

The estimated salary range for this position is $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience.
