About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Transition Manager to join our Transition team at Legal & General. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the end-to-end implementation and onboarding of a portfolio of Pension Risk Transfer (PRT) transactions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Take ownership of the implementation process, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of PRT transactions.
  • Support the PRT Business Development team in securing and maximizing new business opportunities by providing technical expertise and ensuring project milestones are achieved.
  • Liaise with trustees, brokers, and administrators to agree on a timescale and process for verifying data, ensuring accurate costing of benefits and compliance with legal liabilities.
  • Establish and monitor actions against agreed timetables, implementing remedial actions as required.
  • Conduct Post-Implementation Reviews for each scheme and meet with or report to Trustees, their advisers, and administrators as necessary.
  • Maintain an excellent knowledge of the Pension Risk Transfer proposition and processes, as well as changes to pensions and de-risking legislation, to support the development of our PRT Implementation capabilities.
Requirements
  • PMI Qualification
  • Prince 2 Practitioner
  • Demonstrable experience in administering and onboarding Defined Benefit (DB) pension schemes
  • Knowledge of pension regulations for DB schemes, including wind-up requirements and interaction with PPF and FAS
  • Understanding of buy-out, buy-in, and longevity insurance and reinsurance products and propositions
  • Deep understanding of systems and processes required to meet annuity commitments
  • Good problem-solving, analytical, and financial skills, with ability to understand high volumes of customer data and pension benefit calculations
  • Strong experience in leading or participating in beauty parades and presenting to Trustees and Advisers
  • Understanding of current challenges and opportunities in the Pension Risk Transfer market
  • Strong organizational and change management skills, with attention to detail and ability to prioritize and work independently
  • Track record of building effective relationships in complex environments
  • Demonstrable background in adapting to trends and openness to new ideas
