Role Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to join Shaw Trust as an Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Teacher Trainer, working within Her Majesty's Youth Offenders Institute (HMYOI) Feltham. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering accredited learning to young people undertaking ICT study programmes.

We are looking for an individual who is occupationally competent in ICT, with a relevant teaching or training qualification and experience of teaching on and assessing accredited qualifications from Entry Level to Level 3. You will also have demonstrable experience of providing excellent customer service skills and an ongoing interest in recent developments in ICT qualifications.

The successful candidate will be required to work Monday to Friday, with flexible hours to meet the needs of the team and organisation. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £38,224-£42,959 per annum, plus access to a range of benefits including 40 days annual leave, two days paid volunteering leave, and enhanced pension scheme after six months.

About the Role

This fixed-term contract is for 12 months, during which time you will be responsible for teaching a range of courses to a Good or Outstanding Ofsted rated level. You will develop young people-centred teaching, learning and assessment strategies, contributing to increased retention, achievement, and progression of the young people we support.

You will be required to follow all processes relating to qualifications and examinations, including registration and submissions to validating bodies, and liaison with the Shaw Trust HMYOI Feltham Exams Officer, moderators and external verifiers in accordance with Shaw Trust HMYOI Feltham policy. You will also be responsible for understanding and complying with Shaw Trust Safeguarding Policy and related procedures, taking action as appropriate regarding matters of safety, protection and wellbeing.
