Job Title: Restart Programme Advisor

Main Purpose of the Role:

Support unemployed and vulnerable individuals with health conditions through the DWP's Restart Programme, helping them seek, secure, and sustain employment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored employment support (face-to-face and remotely) for adults referred to the Restart Programme.
  • Manage a diverse caseload, ensuring participants receive support through digital, video, and phone channels.
  • Conduct daily appointments and update records on IT and CRM systems accurately.
  • Assess participants' needs and create personalised action plans for their employment journey.
  • Deliver Job Hubs, Interview Skills, and CV workshops.
  • Match participants to local job opportunities and provide necessary support (e.g. PPE).
  • Ensure all actions comply with the Restart programme's objectives and contractual requirements.
  • Liaise with the Halton Employment Partnership and other teams to match participants to appropriate roles.
  • Monitor self-performance and ensure accurate data management.
  • Signpost participants to additional support services (e.g. debt advice, addiction support).
  • Complete all necessary follow-up processes with participants and employers.
  • Perform 'better off in work' calculations to assess participants' financial benefits when employed.
  • Handle any other duties related to the role, including outside normal hours.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Level 3 qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in a customer-focused role and employability programmes.
  • Knowledge of the local labour market and equality & diversity issues.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage a busy workload.
  • Experience supporting vulnerable individuals and using IT systems.
  • High digital literacy, including Microsoft Office.
  • Strong communication, influencing, and problem-solving skills.

Desirable Skills:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Information, Advice & Guidance.
  • Experience with government-funded programmes or supporting individuals with specific needs (e.g. disabilities).
  • Emotional intelligence and adaptability in challenging situations.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to build effective relationships with partner organisations (e.g. Jobcentre Plus).
  • Flexibility to work outside normal hours and travel across Halton.
