Our recruitment process is designed to be accessible and inclusive, with reasonable adjustments made to ensure equal opportunities for all.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our Learning Disabilities Occupational Therapy Team. This role will involve working in two teams: 2.5 days in our Inpatient Learning Disabilities Service and 2 days with our Mental Health Intensive Support and Treatment (MHIST) Team.

Our Inpatient wards provide support to adults with Learning Disabilities who require assessment and treatment for Mental Health, Forensic, or Behavioural Support needs. MHIST offers intensive support in the community to prevent hospital admission.

  • Provide education and training to individuals, families, and carers.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of occupational therapy services.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Relevant experience working as an Occupational Therapist in Mental Health, Learning Disabilities, or Children's and Families services.
  • Excellent communication and decision-making skills.
  • A collaborative approach to multidisciplinary working.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • A passion for quality improvement and innovative practice.
What We Offer

NHS Scotland is committed to supporting the professional development of our staff. As an Occupational Therapist with our team, you will have access to regular clinical and professional supervision, as well as opportunities for training and professional development.

We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all sections of society. If you are passionate about occupational therapy and committed to delivering high-quality care, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
