About the Role

The Futures in STEM programme aims to prepare students for university life by providing them with a consistent supportive environment where they can discuss university applications and address concerns about their studies.

The programme takes place in three-week cycles aligned to school term dates and consists of online subject-specific tutorials, mentoring, guest lectures, and activities designed to prepare students for university study.

  • Assist and direct student projects and other work as required, responding to questions and providing advice
  • Ensure that students follow ethical guidelines in conducting their work
  • Implement the University's Code of Conduct
  • Conduct mentoring activities
  • Monitor the welfare and behaviour of the student(s) and report any concerns immediately
  • Maintain records as required

We are looking for a dynamic individual who is passionate about improving equality of opportunity for underrepresented groups to access and succeed in Higher Education.

To be successful in this role, you should have a degree in Physics or a related subject and be able to act as a role model for your course of study, college, and University. You should also be confident in dealing with young people and have an awareness of the process of applying to higher education.

As a member of our team, you will be responsible for:
