Job Title: Senior/Lead Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Summary:

iO Associates - UK/EU is partnering with an innovative company in the electric vehicle sector to find a talented Senior/Lead Mechanical Design Engineer to join their growing team in Guildford.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and lead the design of cutting-edge mechanical systems for electric vehicles, ensuring they meet performance, safety, and cost requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, software developers, and manufacturing specialists, to drive project success.
  • Manage the full product lifecycle, from concept to production, and oversee testing and validation of designs.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, providing technical leadership and support.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer in the automotive or related industry.
  • Strong proficiency with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, AutoCAD).
  • Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) tools.
  • Knowledge of electric vehicle systems, including battery technology and powertrains, is highly desirable.
  • Ability to manage projects and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to engineering challenges.
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
