Your new company is a market-leading SME-sized manufacturing organisation based in the Shropshire region. They are well-respected and successful in their field, and now they are looking to recruit for a Purchasing Manager to lead the buying team and support the growth of the business.

• Develop and implement the procurement strategy across the organisation.
• Lead and develop a small team, taking ownership of supplier sourcing, procurement planning, RFT management, supplier relationship management, and contract management.
• Manage key supplier relationships and resolve business-critical supply chain issues.
• Analyse and report spend management information, drive continuous improvement, ensure risk mitigation is maximised, and drive innovation in supplier management practices.

• Strong experience of managing purchasing teams within SME-sized organisations.
• Previous experience of leading the procurement of specialist direct materials within a manufacturing or engineering organisation.
• Expertise in strategic sourcing and negotiation, supplier management, supply chain management, and risk management.
• A strong people leader, committed to development, engagement, and creating a high-performing and customer-centric culture.
• Skilled at building relationships and having a solutions-focused approach.

You will receive a salary of £60,000 to £65,000 plus bonus, and excellent pension and benefits.
