About the Role

We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our team at Sheffield Forgemasters Engineering Ltd. As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for operating and programming CNC machine tools to meet the business needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operating and programming CNC machine tools to meet the business needs.
  • Machining large high-value forgings and castings up to 20 tonnes in weight.
  • Working to complex engineering drawings and the company's various quality procedures and documents.
  • Displaying a flexible, positive, and adaptable attitude to work and the production environment.
  • Slinging and manoeuvring large components to facilitate machining operations.
  • Experience of 6S to maintain the SFEL standards.
  • Excellent appreciation of Health & Safety at work requirements.

About You

  • Apprenticeship trained or relevant experience in CNC Machining.
  • Experienced in using CNC Milling machines.
  • Ability to read and understand complex engineering drawings.
  • Knowledge of modern-day tooling.
  • Full understanding of Health & Safety and the ability to work safely.
  • Experience of following and filling out quality documentation.
  • Ability to understand and follow CNC programs.
  • Previous experience of operating a machine in a heavy engineering environment.

Working Hours

Average of 37.5 hours per week: Mornings: 6:00am - 2:30pm Mon - Thurs, Friday 6:00am - 12:00pm. Nights: 8:00pm - 6:00am Mon - Thu
