Job Title: Senior Java Software Engineer

Location: Belfast

Position Overview: We are seeking a motivated Senior Java Software Engineer to join a dynamic team within an innovative financial software company. This is an exciting opportunity to design, develop, and maintain high-impact financial applications.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze project requirements.
  • Design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications and services.
  • Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code, adhering to industry standards.
  • Conduct code reviews to ensure quality, performance, and consistency.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve software issues and performance bottlenecks.
  • Work with QA to create test plans and ensure comprehensive testing.
  • Participate in architectural discussions to enhance system design.
  • Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years in Java development with strong object-oriented design skills.
  • Proficiency in Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data).
  • Familiarity with web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Angular/React).
  • Experience with databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and ORM (Hibernate).
  • Skilled with Git, Maven, Jenkins, and Agile methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
