About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Health Practitioner to join our team as a Port Health Specialist. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and enforcing port health regulations, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and guidelines.

Main Duties:

  • To undertake all enforcement work by identifying and adopting the most appropriate regulatory response(s) based on the current M&CP PH&PP Enforcement Policy.
  • To enforce international, European, and national public health legislation aimed at controlling infectious disease in premises, aboard ships, and aircraft.
  • To represent the Council and the UK when attending national and international meetings related to port health.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience in supervision of professional, technical, and/or administrative staff.
  • Qualification and experience as a Food Competent Certifying officer for Fishery Products - OCQ(CO).
  • Experience with IPAFFS and PHILIS.

Estimated Salary: £50,000 - £65,000 per annum, depending on experience.
