We are seeking a skilled Participation Programme Coordinator to develop and implement Children in Wales' participation programme through direct work with diverse children and young people, and the practitioners and organisations that support them.

The successful candidate will be responsible for informing and enabling children and young people to participate effectively and have their views heard by Ministers and policy makers through Young Wales and other participation activity.

The role will also support the implementation of Article 12 of the UNCRC by gathering the voice of the child to inform policy development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement participation programmes for children and young people.
  • Work with diverse children and young people to inform and enable their participation in decision-making processes.
  • Support the implementation of Article 12 of the UNCRC.
  • Collaborate with practitioners and organisations to deliver effective participation activities.

Requirements:

  • Experience of working with children and young people in a participation or advocacy role.
  • Knowledge of the UNCRC and its implementation in Wales.
  • Ability to develop and implement effective participation programmes.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
