We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Class 1 Driver to join our Training Team in Fakenham Depot.
About the Role:This is an ideal opportunity for drivers who want to progress in their careers while working closely with our Training and Recruitment teams to develop new talent and enhance the skills of current drivers.
- The Lead Driver will support multiple departments, including Operations, Recruitment, Training, and the Driving School. This role comes with increased hourly rates and additional responsibilities, which include:
- Conducting assessments and inductions for new driver recruits.
- Training and coaching existing drivers, including assessments and running CPC courses.
- Collaborating with the Driver Training School.
- Providing guidance via phone to drivers on duty regarding work-related issues.
- Demonstrating and training drivers on:
- Safe trailer loading procedures.
- Trailer coupling techniques.
- Driving and tachograph regulations.
- Shunting trailers safely.
- Achieving high Isotrak scores.
- Coaching efficient driving practices.
- Preparing for office work.
- Ocasional travel to support other Jack Richards Depots.
- LGV (C+E) driving duties across the UK when not required in the office or carrying out training work.
To be successful, you will require:
- A valid LGV (C+E) license held for at least 3 years.
- A current Driver Qualification Card (DCPC).
- Experience in general haulage work, preferably with timber; background knowledge of WTD and EU drivers hours rules and Regulations.
- Strong work ethic.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Flexibility and adaptability to a varied role.
- Estimated salary: £45,000 - £48,000 per annum, based on experience.
- Enhanced Rates after 10 hours.
- Up to £10 per Day Meal Allowance.
