Mondrian Alpha is seeking a skilled Research Data Analyst to contribute to our team's success. As a key member of our data team, you will be responsible for managing and analyzing large datasets to support our research activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Management: Set up and manage data trials and subscriptions for research economists, ensuring seamless access to alternative datasets.
- Data Ingestion and Publication: Ingest and publish datasets using our platform, leveraging Databricks and Dremio to ensure high-quality data.
- Data Quality Management: Develop and maintain data quality check libraries to monitor vendor data quality and improve performance.
- Data Analysis: Perform data analysis using Python, Jupyter, SQL, and Tableau to provide actionable insights.
- Dashboard and Visualization: Create dashboards and visualizations to support research activities and communicate findings effectively.
- Data Scouting: Identify new data sources, profile vendors, and provide feedback to economists on the data landscape.
- Work Planning: Prioritize work according to company objectives and provide regular status updates to internal stakeholders.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Buyside Data Experience: At least 3 years of data experience working for a buyside firm, with a strong understanding of data management and analysis.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong coding skills in SQL and Python, with experience working with Databricks and Dremio.
- Data Management Knowledge: Demonstrated understanding of how organizations consume, lifecycle, and manage their data.
- Proactive Learning: Shows initiative and willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies.
- Communication Skills: Clear and concise communication style, with experience presenting findings to internal stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Fast-Paced Environment: Experience working in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects.
- Developer Collaboration: Experience collaborating with developers to integrate data into our platform.
- Research Data Expertise: Experience working with alternative and macroeconomic research datasets, and familiarity with vendors such as Macrobond, Haver, Bloomberg, etc.
- Advanced Excel Skills: Proficiency in advanced Excel functionalities, with experience creating complex models and dashboards.
