Technical Artist Role

At 1956 Individuals, we're seeking a skilled Unity Technical Artist to join our team and contribute to the development of our upcoming sci-fi game. As a Technical Artist, you will be responsible for ensuring that all game content is feasible and optimized for the Unity game engine. This includes developing shaders, workflows, and maintaining performance. You will work closely with the Art Director, Game Designers, and Programmers to develop and implement high-quality art assets. Your expertise in Unity, C#, and Python will be essential in implementing and optimizing shader functionality, lighting, and special effects. Additionally, you will build and maintain asset pipelines and workflows to ensure efficient and effective production of high-quality game assets. Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement high-quality art assets
Implement and optimize shader functionality, lighting, and special effects in Unity
Build and maintain asset pipelines and workflows
Optimize game performance by guiding the artists in enhancing techniques for optimizing and streamlining the game engine
Debug and troubleshoot issues related to game assets, effects, and technical features

Requirements:
3-5 years' experience working as a Technical Artist in a game development studio
Proficiency in Unity, with experience in developing games for PC and console platforms
Knowledgeable in character animation tech dependencies
Great knowledge of end-to-end art creation applications (Maya, Blender, Substance, Z-brush, Houdini)
Strong understanding of the latest 3D art production workflows and techniques
Passionate about gaming, with a deep understanding of different game genres and art styles
Mastery in C# and Python
