We are seeking a skilled English Teacher to join our team at Teaching Personnel. As an English Teacher, you will be responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing engaging and challenging English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that cater to different learning styles and meet the needs of a diverse range of students.
  • Inspire students to develop their reading, writing, and critical thinking skills, encouraging a love for literature and effective communication.
  • Mark and assess students' work, providing constructive feedback to promote improvement and progress.
  • Prepare students for GCSE English examinations, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge required to achieve their potential.
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively, fostering a positive and focused learning environment.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and the English department to ensure high-quality teaching standards and contribute to the overall success of the school.
Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a specialism in English.
  • A degree in English or a related subject.
  • Experience teaching English at secondary school level, preferably across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons that cater to different learning styles.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Effective classroom management skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
  • An enhanced DBS check on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
