The Role

As a Shift Fitter at our facility, you will be responsible for maintaining production line efficiency by operating and repairing essential factory machinery. This is a full-time, permanent position with a rotating three-shift pattern, requiring someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and takes pride in delivering high-quality results.

  • Operate and maintain equipment to meet production goals, ensuring seamless workflow and minimal downtime.
  • Predictive maintenance is key to optimal performance; you will ensure all machinery and equipment are kept in excellent working condition through regular checks and upkeep.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve machine issues promptly, guaranteeing safe and efficient operations while promoting a culture of quality and excellence.
  • You will play a vital role in promoting health, safety, and welfare values, striving for zero harm and fostering a positive work environment.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying areas for efficiency and quality enhancements, always looking for ways to improve processes and operations.
  • Utilize your mechanical skills, including welding, fabrication, and expertise in hydraulics and pneumatics, to keep equipment operating at its best and exceeding expectations.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you must have:

  • A mechanical apprenticeship and relevant certifications, such as City & Guilds, B Tech, or NVQ Level 2 or 3.
  • Solid mechanical skills in metal fabrication, welding, and machine maintenance.
  • Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems, enabling you to diagnose and repair issues efficiently.
  • A motivated and proactive approach, consistently seeking opportunities to enhance site processes and operations.
  • Excellent communication skills, allowing effective collaboration within a team environment.
  • Organizational skills, detail-oriented, and adaptable, capable of adjusting to the rotating shift pattern.

Our competitive salary is £45,000 per annum, plus a bonus, and 25 days holiday + local bank holidays (with options to increase).
