About the Service

Our Speech and Language Therapy Service in Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent offers assessment and treatment to adult patients with communication and swallowing difficulties in community locations. We provide dysphagia, communication, and voice assessment and intervention. Our service is committed to compassionate management and leadership.

Job Summary

We are seeking a Band 6 SLT to join our team. The role is initially a fixed-term position for 12 months, but it may extend or become substantive depending on the circumstances. The successful candidate will work in specialist clinical areas, including dysphagia. We offer a range of benefits, including 20% protected time for supervisions, CPD, and self-directed learning. Our team has strong links with the local university, offering opportunities for lecturing, student placements, and course syllabus involvement.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing and treating adult patients with communication and swallowing difficulties. They will work in community locations, providing dysphagia, communication, and voice assessment and intervention. We require the candidate to be an independently practicing clinician with enthusiasm and motivation. They will need to have the following skills or experience: registration with HCPC, post-graduate RCSLT-accredited dysphagia course, and up-to-date field work/pre-registration student training.
