Rolls-Royce plc is a global leader in the design, manufacture, and service of high-performance engines and systems for aerospace and energy applications. Our Engineering team provides technical support services for our Defence customers, both in the UK and overseas.
We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our Distributed Generation Systems Engineering team in Winsford. The successful candidate will have a Mechanical Engineering degree, with proven experience in a mechanical design role and wide-ranging practical experience. They will also have competence with using Autodesk CAD software packages and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities- You will take a leading role regarding the development and design of new products / services.
- You will provide flexible, robust, efficient, and cost-effective engineering support to our existing products as part of an integrated team.
- You will conduct failure diagnosis, analysis and sentencing of problems affecting in-service equipment, including equipment testing as required.
- You will comprehensively report your findings and make recommendations for modifications to maintain capability, reduce costs or address safety concerns.
- You will coordinate with delivery teams and provide direct liaison with customers to understand and resolve equipment support issues.
Requirements
- Ideally, you will have a Mechanical Engineering degree, with proven experience in a mechanical design role and wide-ranging practical experience.
- Competence with using Autodesk CAD software packages is preferential but not essential.
- You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills that will enable you to work well within the Engineering team and to build strong relationships with our customers and suppliers.
- You will have the ability to work both independently and within cross-functional teams.
- You will be adaptable, flexible, and have a drive to acquire new skills.
- Some domestic and international travel may be required.
