About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Underwriting Team Manager to lead our underwriting team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the team is performing to a high standard while supporting key strategic projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the underwriting team and manage the day-to-day operations
  • Ensure reporting and insights are reviewed to improve performance
  • Carry out regular quality assurance of team output and identify training needs
  • Provide guidance and support to team members as a subject matter expert
  • Assist with the implementation of new systems and processes
  • Support strategic underwriting projects and ensure operational requirements are clear and accurate
  • Prioritize workloads to meet service level agreements and deliver on team objectives
Requirements
  • Proven underwriting experience in a lending business
  • Ability to contribute positively to our company culture and ensure staff are happy and engaged
  • Confidence to challenge existing work practices and encourage an environment where staff suggest improvements
  • Excellent time management and organization skills
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to work as processes evolve
  • Positive outlook and ability to demonstrate a positive influence on the team
  • Strong focus on quality and receptive to feedback
Desirable Skills
  • Proven experience working in an underwriting management role
  • Experience with unsecured personal loans, motor finance CIFAS/SIRA loadings and assessments, and Open Banking
