Job Title: Senior Loans Operations Specialist

Salary Range: 55,000 - 70,000 USD per annum

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Loans Operations Specialist to join our team at Europe Arab Bank. As a key member of our Corporate Banking and Private Banking department, you will be responsible for managing loans administration and MRPA processing activities, as well as process design and enhancements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support Corporate Banking and Private Banking loans processing activities, including drawdowns, rollovers, repayments, interest, and fee payments, while adhering to segregation of duties and verification controls.
  • Assume responsibility for interactions with external parties relevant to loans administration.
  • Establish processes for managing and recording MRPAs and maintain an appropriate control framework.
  • Support the rollout of the Bank's Islamic finance proposition, ensuring systems and processes are in place.
  • Work with stakeholders and the IT department to establish MRPAs as a product in the Bank's systems.
  • Put in place detailed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for loans processing.
  • Understand the loans processing process, identify weaknesses, and suggest improvements based on previous experience.
  • Deliver training to the offshore team and hand over activities to relieve pressure on Credit Administration and CIB departments.
Daily Processing Activities
  • Check loan documentation and associated payments, processing new loans and re-sets.
  • Review documentation, including facility agreements, credit approvals, and legal sign-offs, to facilitate proper execution of deals.
  • Monitor drawdown instructions received from customers or agent banks for completeness and accuracy.
  • Ensure collaterals and conditions precedents are in place prior to authorizing loans drawdown.
  • Prepare the 'Loans Handover File' used to provide execution instructions to the Loans Processing Team.
  • Monitor and timely process all transactions within approved Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and tight deadlines.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders, facility agents, and Payments teams to ensure smooth execution of processes.
  • Liaison with EAB local Branch & Credit Department to clarify points specific to pre-assigned Loan Agreements.
  • Ensure Conditions Precedent relating to new Drawdowns are met. Process rollovers, new advances, and repayments for syndicated and bilateral lending according to agent bank or customer request.
  • Update credit lines/collateral details once relevant documentation is received.
  • Ensure proper record and safe keeping of loan-related documents.
  • Update and maintain customer records, including account setup and fees/charges.
  • Monitor receipt and follow up non-receipt of principal instalments, interest, and fees booking under syndicated and bilateral loans.
  • Coordinate loans risk participations between EAB entities (plc & SA).
  • Resolve issues independently and conduct investigations within agreed SLAs to ensure task completion in time and avoid potential financial or reputational risks.
  • Approach relationship directors for issues related to commercial aspects.
  • Support business lines for loan sell-down upon request.
  • C Coordinate closings and settlements of secondary market loans transactions with Agents, Counterparties, Legal, and GSO.
  • Maintain high-level communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure all Islamic loan transactions are processed in a Shariah-compliant manner under Murabaha, Ijara, etc structures.
  • Contribute to maintaining up-to-date Loans SOPs with relevant stakeholders in EAB.
  • Maintain records of drawdowns, drawn, and undrawn commitments, collaterals, MRPA.
Required Experience and Qualifications
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in the banking industry in Loan Admin/Middle Office operations.
  • Loans documentation review to retrieve operational information from facility agreement and other relevant documents.
  • Experience in Islamic Financing (Murabaha, Ijara, etc) is an advantage.

  • Diploma or Bachelor Degree holder.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to liaise and collaborate with other departments.
