Job Title: Vocational/Multi Skilled Instructor

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Vocational/Multi Skilled Instructor to join our team at HMP Dovegate. The successful candidate will have a strong background in the construction industry and be able to deliver high-quality training sessions to prisoners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver vocational training sessions to prisoners in the construction industry
  • Assist in the daily operational delivery within the industrial workshop
  • Prepare workshop sessions based on the construction industry using a variety of teaching and assessment methods
  • Drive a holistic purposeful activity strategy to maximize opportunities for prisoners to engage in work, education, and training
  • Monitor prisoner attendance in activities and report concerns to the Industries PA Manager
  • Attend standardization meetings as required to drive continuous improvement and enhance programme delivery

Requirements:

  • Occupational experience in the construction industry
  • Assessor qualifications are not essential
  • Flexible approach to learning and using new skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Good IT, literacy, and numeracy skills
  • Ability to develop, motivate, and inspire learners throughout their programme of study
  • Collaborative team worker
