About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team at Castle Garden School, part of Options Autism.

As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality education and support to our students with autism. You will be responsible for creating a safe and inclusive learning environment that caters to the diverse needs of our students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that meet the unique needs of each student
  • Teach a range of subjects, including English, mathematics, science, and social studies, in a way that is engaging and accessible to students with autism
  • Work collaboratively with other teachers, support staff, and therapists to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to student support
  • Provide regular progress updates to parents and carers, and work with them to set and achieve goals for their child
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay up-to-date with best practices in special education and autism support

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS)
  • Experience working with students with autism or other special educational needs
  • Strong knowledge of autism and its impact on learning and behavior
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
