Job Title: Buying Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Buying Manager to join our team at Avantus Aerospace Group. The successful candidate will be responsible for improving the effectiveness of procurement and sourcing as a core strategic discipline and a major driver of value creation within our business.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement robust processes around procurement activities, focusing on identifying and evaluating new potential sources of supply, reducing total cost of ownership, and leading commercial sourcing negotiations.
  • Monitor savings against agreed cost reduction targets and manage all aspects of vendor performance in collaboration with the Quality Department.
  • Support the sales team in delivering value to customers, managing, and creating quotations in a timely manner.

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Practical experience within the MRO / aftermarket and distribution sector, with sealing industry experience being desirable.
  • Engineering procurement bias preferred, with a good understanding of material specifications, drawing interpretation, and process capabilities.
  • Good knowledge of material requirement planning (MRP), preferably experience of implementing and developing MRP best practices.
  • Demonstrable supply chain knowledge, including stock, inventory turn improvement, freight, duty, and transport cost improvement.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and experience in project management.
  • IT literate and able to work largely unsupervised, with internal support as required.
