Speech and Language LSA Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Speech and Language LSA to join our team in Southend on sea. As a Speech and Language LSA, you will play a vital role in supporting students with speech and language difficulties, helping them improve their communication skills and boost their confidence and academic progress.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support students with speech, language, and communication needs in a 1:1 and group setting, using your expertise to develop their speech and language abilities.
  • Work closely with teachers and the school's Speech and Language Therapist to implement tailored interventions and ensure students receive the best possible support.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the SEN team and classroom teachers, helping to inform and improve teaching practices.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and encouraging environment that promotes students' social, emotional, and academic growth.
Requirements:
  • Experience in a school setting, supporting students with speech and language needs, with a strong understanding of speech and language development and intervention strategies.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team and take direction from professionals.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and child protection, with the ability to satisfy all background safer recruitment checks, including an enhanced DBS on the update service.
