We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Health and Safety Business Partner to join our team at Principal People Recruitment. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in delivering our Health and Safety agenda and implementing long-term strategies at critical and strategic sites.
Reporting to the Director of Health, Safety & Performance, you will provide technical expertise, leadership, and guidance across multiple functions, ensuring best practices and compliance with Health & Safety regulations.
This is a hybrid role, with time split between our Head Office in Leicester and across our network of sites, spread across the country, so national travel will be required.
Key Responsibilities:- Drive continuous improvement for Health & Safety initiatives and programmes across the business.
- Lead technical support and strategy development for health and safety compliance across various departments and facilities.
- Ensure local compliance with legal and regulatory Health & Safety requirements.
- Provide support to operational units during external audits and high-profile site visits.
- Mentor colleagues and support the development and delivery of Health & Safety training.
- Maintain positive relationships with enforcement agencies, local communities, and stakeholders.
- Certified Member of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) with L5/L6 Occupational Health & Safety Qualification as a minimum.
- Experience in the Highways, Civil Engineering, Utilities or Rail or Oil and Gas industries would be an advantage but is not essential.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence, challenge, and build collaborative relationships across the business.
- Car Allowance or Company Car from a wide range of fleet vehicles.
