We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Pharmacy Assistant to join our team at HMP Lewes, a category B prison located in Lewes, East Sussex. As a Pharmacy Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing a timely and efficient service to the prison wings, working as an active member of the Pharmaceutical team to ensure delivery of the pharmaceutical service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete general dispensary duties and stock management
  • Participate in dispensing of prescriptions
  • Receive prescriptions and stick returns from wing-based clinical areas
  • Collect orders from suppliers from the Main Gate and arrange collection of returns

Requirements:

  • NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Service Skills or equivalent
  • Medicines handling experience desirable but not essential
  • Level 2 English and Maths or equivalent
  • A non-judgmental and compassionate approach
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good IT skills and IT literacy
  • Ability to work within a busy environment
  • Ability to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures
