Job Overview:

A dynamic educational institution in Greenwich is seeking a qualified Primary Teacher to assume the role of Educational Lead for a Year 1 class on a full-time basis. The position will be available from January to July 2025.

About the Role:

In this esteemed position, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences to students in Year 1. You will work closely with other year group teachers and under the guidance of the phase leader to plan engaging lessons that foster individual growth and development. The curriculum employed by the school encourages creativity and variation, enabling students to excel academically and personally.

  • Demonstrate consistently good or outstanding teaching practices
  • Possess good knowledge and experience teaching the KS1 curriculum
  • Have experience supporting pupils with special educational needs (SEN)

School Information:

The school is part of a small academy trust with three schools across Greenwich. It is situated in Thamesmead, accessible by car and local train/bus links. As a two-form entry school, teachers and support staff collaborate closely, creating a cohesive and supportive environment. There is a diverse intake with a larger-than-average number of pupils with SEN attending the school. The senior management team is dedicated and making excellent progress, supported by the wider trust.

Educational Programme:

The school employs the Little Wandle phonics programme and NCTEM for maths. While previous experience teaching using these programmes is desirable, it is not essential. This opportunity allows you to contribute to shaping the educational landscape of the school and make a meaningful impact on the lives of students.

Estimated Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 per annum
