We are seeking an experienced Clinical Specialist Psychologist to join our team at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a Clinical Specialist Psychologist, you will be responsible for providing specialist psychological services to adults with sickle cell disease or thalassaemia.

Main Duties:
  1. Provide specialist assessment, treatment, planning, implementation, and monitoring of outcomes for adults with sickle cell disease or thalassaemia.
  2. Operational line management and clinical supervision of the Band 7 psychologist.
  3. Work as an autonomous professional within BPS and HCPC guidelines and codes of conduct.
Person Specification:
  • Entry-level qualification in Applied Psychology (professional Doctorate, or combination of MSc plus PG Diploma level additional training) that has been accepted by the HCPC for purposes of professional registration.
  • Additional training in a specialised area of psychological practice through formal post-qualification training (PG Diploma or equivalent).
  • Completed training course in clinical supervision.
  • Registered with the HCPC as Practitioner Psychologist, and evidence of continuing professional development as required by the HCPC.

As a Clinical Specialist Psychologist, you will have the opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary team, including consultant haematologists, specialist nurses, a social worker, a team of junior doctors, and a Band 7 practitioner psychologist.
