Consultant Cardiologist Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Consultant Cardiologist to join our team at Doncaster & Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS FT. As a Consultant Cardiologist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, contributing to the delivery of a seven-day-a-week service, and working collaboratively with colleagues to improve and advance the service.

Main Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the delivery of a seven-day-a-week service, with flexibility to maintain work-life balance or support a specialist interest at a tertiary centre.
  • Provide outpatient services in general Cardiology and subspecialty services as agreed after appointment.
  • Share with colleagues the provision of Cardiology advice to medical and surgical inpatients.
  • Work with colleagues to improve and advance the service.
  • Share with colleagues the responsibility for teaching and training of trainees, junior medical staff, nursing staff, primary care colleagues, and medical students.
  • Have responsibility for ensuring active participation in continuing professional development (CPD).
Requirements
  • MRCP or equivalent qualification.
  • Eligibility to be on the GMC specialist register for Cardiology or within 6 months of being admitted to the register for trainees, if currently in a training programme in the UK.
  • Ability to demonstrate a high level of clinical experience and competence in all aspects of Cardiology.
  • Significant skills and experience within the sub-specialty of complex cardiac devices.
  • Ability to offer expert clinical opinions on a range of problems within the specialty.
  • Shows ability to work with and lead others across professions.
  • Wide-based experience in Cardiology.
  • Attendance at a recognised management course.
