Ferrier Pumps Limited is seeking a highly skilled Strategic Financial Manager to lead the finance function in their Edinburgh office.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years prior management accounting experience, preferably within the engineering or construction industry.

This role requires strong financial management skills, including accurate financial reporting and analysis to track performance and influence business decisions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Managing the day-to-day finance function on site, ensuring seamless operations
  • Preparing monthly reports (Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet) to provide valuable insights
  • Monthly reports on project progress, Cashflow and debtors to inform strategic decisions
  • Supervising payroll and reporting to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Effective management of supplier payments process for Accounts Payable
  • Daily debtor management and reporting to maintain healthy cash flow
  • Banking reconciliations and cash flow management to minimize risks
  • Monthly Journals and nominal reconciliations to maintain control accounts
Requirements:
  • Part qualified/fully qualified accountant CIMA/ACCA with strong technical knowledge
  • Advanced MS office skills, particularly data analysis and manipulation
  • Demonstrate commercial awareness and ability to interpret financial data
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with diverse project groups
  • Proficient in using ERP financial systems to streamline processes
  • Strong analytical and interpretive skills to deliver financial data in a clear and concise manner

We estimate the salary for this position to be around £50,000-£65,000 per annum, depending on experience.
