Research Business Intelligence and Data Analyst

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Business Intelligence and EDGE Reporting Analyst to join our team at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will have a strong background in business intelligence, data analysis, and reporting, with a focus on EDGE systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide key business and intelligence information along with data to the R&I Department to inform R&I performance against our R&I Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and national targets, study pipeline and R&I opportunities.
- Research and analyze data from R&I's preferred information systems to provide timely, accurate, and intelligible information to clinical and managerial staff and to external agencies.
- Develop and maintain regular reports to various groups as required, ensuring adherence to local and national standards to ensure high-quality data and information identifying missing, incomplete, and inaccurate data.
- Lead analytical projects including data and numerical analysis and the development of reporting solutions that meet the strategic objectives of the R&I service.
- Promote and facilitate the use of the EDGE and ODP systems to users as appropriate, demonstrating a commitment to data accuracy and security at all times.

Person Specification
Essential Qualifications
- Further education to degree level or equivalent qualification or substantial experience working in research.
- Qualification/training to advanced level in database or information management.
Essential Experience
- Up-to-date knowledge and understanding of the clinical research operational, regulatory, business, and strategic environment.
- Experience of implementing new systems within a research environment.
- Knowledge of Clinical or Research and Corporate Governance Frameworks, legislation, and best practice.
- Experience of line management, including supporting the health and wellbeing of staff.
- Recent NHS experience in the last three years with logical and consistent work and career pattern.
Knowledge/Skills
- Methodical with good organisational skills with attention to detail. Good time management skills - able to plan and work to agreed timescales and to multi-task effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; must be capable of negotiating with, and presenting to, senior professionals within and outside the R&I Department relating to highly detailed information.
- Proficiency in the use of ICT applications to support efficient work activity, including the analysis, interpretation, and presentation of complex data.
- Good inter-personal skills; must be able to influence and motivate others in order to achieve results.
- Advanced knowledge of data management, analysis, and methods to support business intelligence reporting.
