About the Role

As a Crewing Officer at James Fisher and Sons plc, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our vessels. Your primary responsibility will be to arrange crew changes for nominated vessels, ensuring that the right seafarers are deployed to the right ships in compliance with high standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Crew changes - arranging travel, immigration, and documentation, as well as updating supplier tracking sheets and applying for necessary documents.
  • Travel Invoices Coordination
  • Payroll reporting to the Crewing Manager
  • Financial reporting to the Crewing Manager
  • People reporting to the Crewing Manager
  • Shipmate Superuser
  • Updating crewing records in systems such as OCIMF and Shipmate
  • Uploading and verifying documents within crewing systems
  • Arranging drug and alcohol screening for company vessels
  • Assisting with incident investigations on assigned vessels
  • Supporting seafarer conferences as required
  • Participating in audits as needed

Requirements

  • Crewing experience
  • Understanding of documentation, SMS, and OCIMF TMSA STCW MLC
  • Strong organizational, communication, and administrative skills
  • Ability to respond to stakeholders in a positive and professional manner
  • Numerate/Excel skills
  • Good team player
  • Seagoing certification is not required but preferable
  • Must have the right to live and work in the U.K.
