Job Title: Project Engineer

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our team. As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, installation, and maintenance of automatic sprinkler systems. Your primary focus will be on project management, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design and produce drawings for automatic sprinkler installations and associated procurement.
  2. Manage smaller projects (up to 50k) from start to finish, ensuring timely completion and budget adherence.
  3. Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with design standards and quality management systems.
  4. Attend contract handover meetings with sales team members and ensure smooth project transitions.
  5. Verify design quantities against tender quantities and report any discrepancies to commercial and estimating teams.
  6. Assist in the negotiation and procurement of sub-contract installers.
  7. Monitor project budgets and ensure that the budgeted profit is achieved or exceeded.
  8. Participate in on-site design coordination and installation progress meetings, as well as site visits and audits to ensure site operations are carried out correctly.
  9. Contribute to the preparation of MW quotations.
  10. Effectively utilize the company's quality management system.

Requirements:

  1. Full UK driving license is essential.
  2. Experience in an engineering field is essential.
  3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is essential.
  4. Excellent telephone manner for initial contact and ongoing communication with customers and business associates.
  5. Project management skills are desirable.
