About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Marine Mammal Specialist to join our Marine Renewables & Infrastructure team. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of delivering high-quality Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) for marine projects, including offshore wind farms.

The role will involve managing specialist input to EIAs from external sub-contractors, carrying out marine mammal and megafauna assessments, and developing in-house capabilities in these areas. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of UK marine policy, legislation, and consenting issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage specialist input to EIAs from external sub-contractors
  • Carry out marine mammal and megafauna assessments
  • Develop in-house capabilities in marine mammal and megafauna assessments
  • Work closely with the Marine Renewables & Infrastructure team to deliver high-quality EIAs
Requirements
  • Degree qualified in a relevant technical subject
  • Proven experience in marine consultancy, academia, or working for Regulatory Bodies, Statutory Nature Conservation Bodies (SNCBs), or environmental Non-governmental Organisations (eNGOs)
  • Strong understanding of UK marine policy, legislation, and consenting issues
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
