SEN Teaching Assistant Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team in the Medway Towns. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in our schools.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide personalized support and guidance to students with diverse needs
  • Assist with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) / Personalised Education Plans (PEPs)
  • Manage behaviour in an effective, pupil-centric way, in-line with school behaviour policies & those set out in the pupil's PEP/IEP
  • Encourage and motivate pupils
  • Work with the class teacher, SENCO, and parents to effectively support the pupil in their development
Requirements:
  • Own or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS Disclosure on the Update Service, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
  • CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible
  • Legal right to work in the UK
