Cardiff City Centre Advisor Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Senior Independent Domestic Violence Advisor to join our team at Vetro Recruitment. As a Senior Adviser, you will play a critical role in providing support to women and children affected by domestic abuse, working closely with external agencies to ensure their safety and well-being.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering training internally and externally, as well as holding complex and diverse caseloads. You will also be required to prioritise cases and provide proactive, short to medium-term crisis intervention service through individual safety, support, and recovery planning.
This role is subject to an Enhanced DBS check and requires a driving licence and access to own vehicle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver training internally and externally
- Hold complex and diverse caseloads
- Prioritise cases and provide proactive, short to medium-term crisis intervention service through individual safety, support, and recovery planning
- Advocate for service users with agencies who can help to address the domestic abuse
- Provide specialist advice and guidance to external agencies in line with company policy and relevant legislation
- Ensure risk is identified and safety and support plans reflect the needs and wishes of the individuals accessing the support
- Manage a caseload ensuring each client receives the trauma-informed, needs-led, risk-assessed service individual to their needs
- Help maintain accurate and confidential case management records and databases and contribute to monitoring and reporting information for the service
Requirements:
- Hold a SafeLives IDVA training certificate, or a relevant degree, or demonstrable equivalent experience or a vocational qualification
- Have an understanding of domestic violence and abuse, including the impact on victims and their children
- Understand child protection issues and how to effectively safeguard
- Experience in engaging with external agencies
- Have strong crisis management skills
- Excellent IT and communication skills
- Ability to provide practical and emotional support
- Ability to manage own workload
- Ability to work alone and as part of a team
Salary: £28,000 per annum
