Employment Lawyer Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced employment lawyer to join our in-house department. As an employment lawyer, you will provide legal advice to officers, councillors, and maintained schools on a range of employment matters, including litigation, TUPE issues, and settlement agreements.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in employment law and be able to manage and prioritize their own caseload. You will report to the senior lawyer and work closely with the team to provide high-quality legal advice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal advice on employment matters, including litigation and TUPE issues.
  • Prepare complex documentation, such as settlement agreements and internal policy and procedure.
  • Advise and represent the Council in the Special Education Needs and Disability Tribunal.

Requirements:

  • Practising solicitor, barrister, or legal executive with experience in employment law.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize a caseload, including conducting advocacy where appropriate.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
