About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Paediatrician to join our team at Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust. As a Consultant Paediatrician with a special interest in Endocrine, Oncology, and Neonates, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing acute paediatric emergency and ambulatory care, as well as taking on-call responsibilities in both acute Paediatrics and neonatology (level 1)
  • Taking charge of outpatient activities and further developing special interests in Endocrine, Oncology, and Neonates
  • Contributing to the development of services in Post 1: Specialist interest in Neonates, Post 2: Specialist interest in Endocrine, and Post 3: Specialist interest in Oncology

Person Specification

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:

  • GMC Registration
  • MBBS or equivalent professional qualification
  • MRCPCH by examination or equivalent
  • Entry on GMC Specialist Register; eligible for entry on Register or within six months of receipt of Certificate of Completion of training (CCT) at time of interview

You will also have experience in managing a team, supervising undergraduates, junior doctors, and other staff, and providing expert clinical opinion on a range of problems. In addition, you will have excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to develop effective working relationships with all levels of staff.
