About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and ambitious Head Small Animal Vet to manage and oversee the clinical caseload and business operations at our Uppingham practice.

This is a unique opportunity for someone looking to combine high-level clinical work with leadership responsibilities, playing a vital role in driving our growth and service expansion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and support the clinical team in delivering exceptional, bespoke, and affordable care.
  • Oversee the day-to-day business operations, ensuring smooth workflow and patient care.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to graduates and junior vets.
  • Help support our transition as the practice expands its services following our new RCVS hospital status.
  • Assist in case discussions, participate in clinical meetings, and support CPD efforts.
  • Work closely with our administrative team (HR, H&S, and finance) to manage non-clinical duties.
  • Play a key role in maintaining a healthy work-life balance, with built-in admin time and a flexible diary.
What We Offer
  • Salary: Circa £65,000 - £85,000
  • Work Schedule: 4-day workweek with time allocated for administration
  • Holidays: 5 weeks paid holiday + bank holidays
  • Professional Support: RCVS fees and Full VDS cover

  • Out of Hours: Equally shared OOH rota (currently 1:10) with time off following on-call shifts
