Shift Engineer Opportunity at Kimpton Fitzroy London

We are seeking a skilled Shift Engineer to join our team at Kimpton Fitzroy London, a contemporary luxury hotel experience that prioritizes heartfelt human connections. As a Shift Engineer, you will play a critical role in maintaining the hotel's mechanical and electrical systems, ensuring the comfort and safety of our guests.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain all health and safety records, including fire pumps test, emergency generator test, and fire alarm test.
  • Manage engineering contractors during out-of-hours shifts and report shortfalls in performance.
  • Ensure mechanical and electrical equipment operates at optimum efficiency.
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance schedules and ensure tools are returned after use.
  • Maintain records of the water treatment system, including steam, hot water, domestic, cold water, heating, and cooling systems.
  • Respond to guest engineering requests while on shift and be a member of the hotel emergency response team.
Requirements:
  • Experience and knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Good knowledge of building services, air handling unit pumps, and pipework layout.
  • Experience in testing and record-keeping for fire, life, and safety systems, with the ability to take remedial action on plant, gas, and air ventilation equipment.
