Epic Build and Configuration Manager Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Epic Build and Configuration Manager to join an NHS Acute Trust on a contract basis. The successful candidate will play a critical role in managing and overseeing the configuration and build of the Epic Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.

This position will involve both remote work and a requirement to be onsite 3 days a week, collaborating with cross-functional teams, including clinicians, IT specialists, and project managers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the build, configuration, and maintenance of the Epic system in line with the NHS Trust's requirements.
  • Ensure that the system is aligned with clinical workflows and regulatory compliance.
  • Provide technical oversight, quality assurance, and troubleshooting throughout the implementation process.
  • Configure and manage integrations between Epic and other systems (PAS, RIS, PACS, etc.).
  • Regularly update stakeholders on project progress, risks, and mitigations.
  • Conduct testing and validation to ensure the system meets clinical and operational needs.
  • Provide ongoing support post-go-live as required.
Key Requirements:
  • Proven experience in Epic system build and configuration, ideally within a healthcare or NHS environment.
  • Certification in one or more Epic modules (e.g., EpicCare, Willow, Radiant, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of NHS workflows and clinical operations.
  • Experience with NHS digital standards, data protection, and compliance requirements.
  • Strong EPR experience.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
