Salary and Benefits
The graduate starting salary for this role is £34,895 per annum. In addition to a competitive compensation package, you will also receive a range of benefits, including £2,000 bonus upon joining, 26 days holiday, and up to £200 monthly accommodation allowance.
Job Description
This position offers an immersive experience in substation engineering, providing an in-depth understanding of the field while being compensated. You will be involved in various projects, working with diverse teams across different stages, from project conception to commissioning. Key responsibilities include:
- Testing equipment, safety, protection, and control of the system, substation refurbishment, maintenance, technical support, problem diagnosis, and fault fixing.
- Providing support and assistance to Operations Managers and team members during project execution.
- Developing skills to lead successful delivery of work packages as a Project Leader.
- Ensuring staff are equipped with the necessary knowledge and experience to perform tasks safely and efficiently, including risk assessments, method statements, and toolbox talks.
- Collaborating with the wider team to monitor, review, and progress contracts for unlicensed customers and review work undertaken by contractors.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you must have a degree based on electrical principles, such as electrical engineering, power systems engineering, or electronics, achieving a minimum 2:2 grade. A valid full UK driving license that allows you to drive in the UK is also required due to extensive travel to site locations. Additionally, flexibility to travel within the role and throughout rotations is essential.
