About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Mechanical Engineer to join our team at HMP Downview, a category C female prison. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced and passionate colleagues who are committed to making a positive difference in the lives of prisoners, employees, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work on commercial or industrial heating and water systems
  • Be familiar with and able to work to Water Supply Regulation and Control of Legionella L8 requirements
  • Have a good working knowledge of relevant health and safety requirements
  • Be a plumber qualified to C&G 6035 (Plumbing), C&G 6189 (Plumbing and heating) and NVQ level 3 in Plumbing or equivalent
  • Have excellent organisational, time management and people skills
