Dorset Council is dedicated to reducing flood risk from surface water, watercourse and groundwater sources of local flooding. Our knowledgeable team acts as Lead Local Flood Authority, passionate about using their expertise to find solutions to reduce flood risk.
About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating flood risk assessments and designing surface water drainage systems in support of new development proposals. You will work closely with developers, consultants, partner organisations and stakeholders to achieve sustainable flood risk reduction outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate flood risk assessments and design surface water drainage systems
- Work with developers, consultants and stakeholders to achieve sustainable flood risk reduction outcomes
- Investigate flooding incidents and identify sustainable outcomes to reduce future flood risk
Requirements
- Recent experience of evaluating flood risk assessments and designing surface water drainage systems
- Enthusiasm and drive in working with developers, consultants, partner organisations and stakeholders
- Excellent communication, workload management and ability to assess drainage issues
What We Offer
We offer a competitive salary of approximately £45,000-£60,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus excellent benefits including hybrid and flexible working that supports a healthy work-life balance.
