WL Duffield & Sons Ltd is seeking a skilled Press Operator to join their team at their Yeovil mill. This is a full-time, permanent role that requires a strong understanding of the manufacturing process and a commitment to producing high-quality feed products.

The successful candidate will be responsible for controlling the manufacture of finished Compound/Blended products to meet company and industry standards. This will involve supervising bulk material intake, minimizing finished product out of stock situations, and ensuring adequate stocks of minerals and supplements.

The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, be a team player, and possess strong written and verbal communication skills. They will also be proficient in Microsoft Office and able to prioritize workload effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise bulk material intake and correct designation to appropriate bins
  • Minimize finished product out of stock situations, particularly main lines
  • Ensure adequate stocks of minerals/supplements and notify any potential shortages
  • Ensure correct hand-tipped additives are incorporated, recorded, and completion of Production Schedule to record batch number of supplement used
  • Monitor quality of product at regular intervals throughout the manufacturing process, including physical quality of finished product
  • Ensure finished product bins are completely empty to re-fill and record on production schedule
  • Carry out basic maintenance, including press greasing and lubrication
  • Adjustment of pellet mill rollers weekly to ensure efficiency of the machine and assist with die/roller changes
  • Setting up of recipe Press Profiles to ensure the highest quality and consistency of feed is maintained
