Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Construction Cost Controller to join our team at St. Modwen Homes in the Southern region.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all commercial aspects of projects, working closely with the Design & Delivery Teams to ensure successful project delivery and alignment with St. Modwen's strategy and objectives.

A key aspect of this role is leading multiple projects simultaneously, up to 6, and delivering St. Modwen's Commercial strategy and objectives across these projects.

The salary for this position is estimated to be around £60,000 - £70,000 per annum, based on industry standards and location.

About the Role:

This is a senior leadership position that requires strong commercial, legal, technical management and financial skills.

You will work collaboratively with Senior Sales, Senior Technical, Contracts Managers, and Customer Care managers to achieve the company's goals.

In addition to your experience in construction cost control, you should have strong communication skills and the ability to manage medium-sized teams (up to 10).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all commercial aspects of projects, including procurement buying, CVRs, Risk and Opportunity / Profit Improvement Plans, and supply chain payments
  • Deliver robust risk and opportunity/profit improvement plans across multiple projects
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve profitability and reduce costs
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, including weekly WIP and monthly cashflows

Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years post-graduate experience in construction cost control, preferably with a contractor or housebuilder
  • RICS and/or MCIOB accreditation
  • Higher education industry discipline relevant qualification
  • Strong professional network and excellent communication skills
  • Full valid driving licence
  • Able to successfully manage the performance of medium-sized teams (up to 10)
