About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Health and Safety professional to join our team at Candidate Source Ltd. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the mineral products sector to achieve 'Vision Zero', a goal that aims to ensure everyone goes home safe and well every day.

Your primary responsibility will be to assist the Head of Health and Safety in providing leadership, advice, and professional support to our members. This will involve engaging with them to promote and embed six key values that will help change behaviour, maintaining a focus on the six high-consequence hazards most likely to kill or seriously injure workers, and monitoring and reporting leading and lagging indicators to measure progress.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Visiting sites across the country to deliver activities that bring about positive health and safety outcomes;
  2. Providing leadership and demonstrating the shared purpose of MPA in all aspects of occupational health and safety;
  3. Engaging with members to promote and embed the six key values and maintain a focus on the six high-consequence hazards.
Requirements
  • Experience of managing health and safety in a relevant industry sector;
  • Possession of sound technical knowledge of health and safety matters affecting the mineral products industry, including knowledge of legislative requirements and the regulatory framework;
  • Professional competence through possession of relevant technical and professional qualifications, including membership of relevant professional bodies;
  • Strong communication skills and relationship-building skills, with the ability to communicate with a broad range of people through various media;
  • IT literacy and a full UK driving licence.

The role offers the opportunity to be office-based (London or Leicester) or hybrid, with the need to travel to member sites and meetings as required.
